How long do they last?

  1. Wind turbines are designed to operate for around 20 to 25 years. But as with anything it will need some maintenance. The better the service, the longer the life of your unit. The biggest factor in longevity of your wind turbine is the quality of the unit purchased initially. Research is a must, information offered from a sales guy is a good start, but this should not be the deciding factor alone. So with a 20 to 25 year life expectancy and a break even time of 6 to 10 years, a properly sized, sited and maintained unit should benefit your home or business for many years.
