I heard wind turbines are loud, is this true?

  1. The biggest thing to decreasing the noise of a turbine is finding one that is UL certified which helps to eliminate noise that is put off by the turbine. The average turbine runs at about 50 DB's. Though increasing wind speeds cause a raise in the noise of the turbine, the wind itself causes noise that will in most cases help to offset or make the small amount of noise less intruding. To experience the sound, aesthetics, and the fun of owning a turbine please visit akwindindustries.com/wtt.com and travel around the Kenai Peninsula to see a broad range of homes, homeowners, and wind turbines.
